Campsite/outdoor centre supermarket
On the campsite, you’ll find our new (2007), well-stocked supermarket, open seven days a week. You can buy a range of fresh products here, such as hot rolls, meat, vegetables, fruit, milk and cheese. You can also get (camping)gas bottles here. There’s fresh bread from the oven every morning. High season opening hours are 08.00 – 20.00 daily. For pre- and post-season opening hours, see on site. Modern sanitary facilities with free hot shower and separate baby changing room
‘It Wiid’ campsite has three toilet facilities, which are cleaned frequently and well. The toilet buildings have special baby changing rooms. There is no toilet building on the spit.
New for summer 2008:: super de luxe toilet building. This architect-designed building has underfloor heating, is fully extractor fitted and is energy-saving. Camping prices include showers. Make sure your children don’t play in the washing facilities, and don’t let small children go to the toilet building unaccompanied. Let’s all try and keep them clean. You must not take hot water from the showers.
Children
If you’d like to spend a pleasant day doing nothing, we’re ready for you! The site has a large playground, and spread over the campsite your children will find all kinds of play facilities, like a large climbing and clambering castle, a slide and a large sandbox. And, of course, there are also sports fields for football, volleyball and basketball.
The campsite has a large outdoor swimming pool 10 x 20 m with a super slide. As well as this large pool, there are also two pools with play facilities for the children
There is an active recreation team every day during the high season, with a varied program Mondays to Saturdays. There are play activities for the little ones each morning, and often sports activities in the afternoons. We also organise walking and canoe trips jointly with the National Park Rangers, and tours for the whole family. Recreation programmes are available from Reception. Children bored? It can’t happen at It Wiid.
Reception
At the Reception, you’ll find all the information you need for a great holiday in Friesland, with information leaflets on just about all the sights in the area. You can also surf the Net on your laptop here with KN Hotspot, or on the computer available for this for a change. You can pick up your post from your mailbox here. You can pay your balance outstanding on arrival, deducting your down payment. You can pay using your PIN pass. We don’t take credit cards. You can also take out (more) money and even fax it at the counter.
Group building
Groups of up to ten people can use the ‘group building’ at the campsite in the pre- and post-season. The group building has three two-person rooms and one four-person room, two showers, a toilet and a sitting room and kitchen.
Large swimming pool with super slide and separate children’s pool
The outdoor swimming pool is open every day from 08.00 to 20.00 from Ascension, May 17th – September 1st. The water is heated to 25-26°. There is a super-length slide (65 m) and a children’s water playground. Diving is not allowed in the pool (the indoor pool is closed)
Launderette
Campsite: opposite the Recreation building is the launderette, with washing machines, tumble dryers, spin dryer and ironing facilities. Tokens for these machines are available from Reception, cost €5.00 and €2.00 per token respectively. The spin dryer takes €0.50 coins, the iron € 0.10 ones.
